What is Graduate study?
Graduate study is further study for students who have usually completed an undergraduate degree or have extensive work experience. It can also be referred to as postgraduate study.
Our graduate courses lead students to professional outcomes such as engineers, teachers, lawyers, physiologists and doctors, but since we offer over 400 courses at graduate level, there is the opportunity for every possible future.
Courses are usually 1 – 3 years long, and we offer both full-time and part-time options.
Why Graduate study at Melbourne?
Graduate study is an investment in your future, which will set you apart as a leader in your field.
Employers are looking for people who have demonstrated commitment to their chosen career. Graduate degrees under the Melbourne Model produce work-ready, self-directed learners with a breadth and depth to their education – this is why University of Melbourne graduates rank highest for Australian Employer reputation.1 What’s more, on average, Australians with a graduate degree earn $24 000 more than those with a bachelors degree.2
Melbourne offers a sophisticated, sequential degree opportunity. More young people than ever before hold a bachelors degree. In this crowded marketplace, having both an undergraduate and a higher-level, graduate qualification helps you stand out from the rest.
At Melbourne, Commonwealth supported places (CSPs) are available for Australian students in a number of professional qualifications, meaning the cost of your course may be more affordable. You may also be able to organised funding from your employer, defer payment through FEE-HELP, or even deduct course costs from your taxable income.
